Training – I have practiced yoga at some level since 1982 and very consistently for the last 15 years. In that time I have experienced a variety of yoga and teaching styles all of which have deepened my practice and guided my teaching. I have completed YogaFit Level 1 training and am currently enrolled in YogaFit Level 2 training (2015). In addition, I have done extensive self study and participated in workshops including with Judith Lasater; at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox, MA; in Kudalini yoga; acro-yoga, and meditation.
Classes – include a variety of breathing, centering, warm-up sequences, leading to more active flow and strength practice, closing with stretching and relaxation.
Why I teach – Yoga, both the physical and mental practice, has had a transformative impact on my life. If I have navigated the uncertainties of marriage, childbirth, and child-rearing, elder caregiving, and two bouts of breast cancer with any amount of grace, it is because of this supportive community. If I can share just a small bit of what the practice has meant to me with others, I will be gratified.
Inspiration – I find inspiration in the many beautiful spirits I encounter on this journey. My two-fold mantra for life is to make meaningful human connections and to do the best I can with whatever time I have on earth. Yoga helps me to live this every day.
